16 x 20” | Mixed Media on Canvas
A surge of color. A determined ascent. A reminder that hope is formed, not found.
In Fishing for Hope, a vibrant fish pushes upward through swirling currents of neon blues, hot pinks, and layered texture. The movement is bold and intentional — not escaping the water, but pressing through it.
Inspired by Romans 5:3–5:
“...we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope… Now hope does not disappoint…”
This piece reflects that progression. The current represents tribulation. The upward motion, perseverance. The vibrant, unyielding color — character formed under pressure. And at the center of it all: hope that does not disappoint.
Layered mixed-media details create depth and motion, while expressive linework and graffiti-inspired textures lend the piece its signature energy.
Hope isn’t passive.
It swims forward.
